Non Profit Board Involvement

The Nashville Book Connection

According to local librarians and teachers, a lack of consistent readership at home has contributed to low literacy outcomes amongst students.

NBC impacts literacy by connecting kids with books they love to nurture their individual literacy needs - at home & in the classroom.

We support a culture of readership by growing home libraries full of new, diverse and meaningful books kids are excited to read.

The Global Education Center

The purpose of the GEC is to embrace the oneness of all people through arts programming that aids in dispelling myths, dismantling stereotypes, unlearning biases and alleviating fears. To educate and train children, families, artists, teachers, administrators and community personnel in multicultural arts education to build community and embrace shared stories. To disseminate information, stimulate dialogue and provide a safe haven for cultural exploration. To advocate for using the arts to connect children with the inherent beauty of and deserved respect for cultures that might be different from their own. To connect a diverse array of artists with schools and community organizationsTo help empower artists through learning, teaching and performance opportunities. To establish the Center as a national model for other communities.

As a cultural immersion explorer, I find it of the upmost importance to share the teachings, history and culture that I've learned from my travels. As a board member, I aim to be apart of the work needed to expose and inspire communities to the infinite amount of opportunity that our world has to offer.
